Creating a Post
Instructions for drafting, editing, and scheduling social media posts.
FlowPost makes it easy to generate and publish social media content using a step-by-step post builder. You can publish instantly or schedule ahead—complete with AI writing, image generation, and trend suggestions.
🧾 Post Types Overview
When you start creating a post, FlowPost asks you to select one of the following post types:
Single-Image Post
1 image + caption
Great for product photos, infographics, or quick updates
Multi-Image Post
2–10 images
Ideal for carousels, visual guides, or storytelling
Video Post
Upload or schedule a video with caption
Best for Reels, Shorts, trailers, or announcements
Text-Only Post
Caption or text without media
Useful for status updates, questions, or insights
You’ll choose your post type right after clicking Create Post from the dashboard.
🌍 Selecting Platforms
In the Accounts step:
Check the boxes next to the accounts you want to publish to.
You can select multiple platforms at once (e.g., LinkedIn + Facebook + X).
Each post will be sent to the selected platforms in one click.
🔍 Discovering Trends
In the Trends step, you can:
Select from preset categories like Tech, Marketing, Finance, Travel, etc.
Enter your own keyword (e.g., “supply chain”, “startup funding”)
Click Get Trends to retrieve trending post topics
Each trend uses 1 AI credit and will pre-fill text and image prompts in later steps.
✍️ Writing Text (Manually or with AI)
In the Text step:
Write your caption manually or
Use the AI Text Prompt box to describe what you want the AI to write.
Optional advanced settings:
Length: One-liner, 1–2 sentences, or full paragraph
Tone: Choose from witty, educational, inspirational, professional, etc.
Style: Customize voice further (e.g. sarcastic, minimal, detailed)
🔄 The AI will follow your brand voice examples if you’ve set them up.
🖼 Adding Images or Videos
In the Media step, choose from:
1. Generate
Type a prompt and click Generate with AI (costs 20 credits for images and 120 credits for videos)
2. Upload
Add your own images or videos from your computer
3. Library
Use existing content from your Media Library
Some post types (like single-image or video posts) require media to publish.
📅 Publishing or Scheduling
In the Publish step:
To Post Immediately:
Click Publish Now
To Schedule:
Select a future date and time
Choose your time zone
Click Schedule Post
You can also Save Draft at any step and come back to it later.
⚠️ Common Errors
You won’t be able to publish if:
No accounts are selected
Required media is missing
You’re out of AI credits (only affects generation, not scheduling)

Draft multiple posts and spread them across your content calendar
Mix post types for variety: image, video, and text-only
Use trending topics to stay relevant and boost engagement
